Opportunities to  Meet the K9s

K9 and Sheriff’s Deputy at a Meet and Greet event.

Sometimes, a one time event or something unusual may come up that will involve the K9 teams. If this is a public event, we will post the details in all out media outlets

The Washoe County K9s and their deputies often do meet and greet opportunities within the communities they serve. Whenever one is scheduled, we will post it here, on the blog, and on our Facebook site. This is a chance to get out and see the dogs and take pictures.

Sometimes you can pet one of the dogs, but it depends on the situation. Always ask the deputy if it’s okay to pet them before reaching for the dog, especially if you have children wanting to do it. While our dogs are socialized, they are still trained police dogs, so it’s best to ask first.

Meet the K9s at Scheels at Legends on November 13th.

Scheels at Legends is hosting a Meet and Greet for our WCSO K9s on 10-13-2021 from 10 am to 2 pm. Subject to availability – we never know when an emergency will arise – WCSO will have some of their K9s and their partners for the public to meet.

K9 Partners will have a booth with the new 2022 calendars, shirts, hats, and all the K9 mugs. We will be inside behind the Ferris Wheel. Come take photos, meet the dogs, and have a fun day!

Scheels is located in The Outlets at Legends, 1200 Scheels Drive in Sparks.
