Great Time at the Annual Sheriff’s Office Incline Picnic

Four of us from K9 Partners had a wonderful time talking to people and telling them about our organization at the annual picnic in Incline Village. What a beautiful day and what great folks were there. We were located right next to our three K9 units, so we had the opportunity to get several really nice photos of them. And we premiered our 2024 K9 Calendar at this event. Thanks so much to everyone who stopped by, chatted, and donated to us.

A few pictures from the event are below.

Our K9 calendars are going on sale on Monday, September 25. A new announcement will be going up tomorrow with locations in Reno where you can pick up your calendar for just a $20 donation.

Dogs at Shop with the Sheriff

Washoe County’s Shop with the Sheriff event happened last night at the Wal-Mart store on Pyramid. Local kids were able to fulfill their Christmas Shopping with the assistance of WCSO deputies. Two of the K9s were on hand to greet them and help with the shopping. People got to meet K9 Ava and K9 Odin. Thanks to Wal Mart for their participation in this annual program.

Our own Diana Lee was on hand to take a few photos.

Scheels Meet and Greet Next Saturday!

Want a chance to see and meet one of the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office K9s up close and personal? Our dogs are socialized and love to meet people. At this time, we don’t know which K9s will be there as their appearance is subject to availability based on work needs.

K9 Jett meets people at Barks and Badges last spring.

K9 Partners will have a table at Scheels on November 12th and will have tee shirts, mugs, and calendars available for set donations. Calendars are also available from Scheels at their Information desk. We’ll be there from 10 am to 2 pm.

So come out and meet our dogs, get some photos, pick up a new calendar or two and chat with their Deputy partners.

Many thanks to Scheels at the Legends Outlets for hosting this Meet and Greet. K9 Partners and the K9 unit appreciate their support.

K9 Unit Challenge 2022

From the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page:

Members of the WCSO K9 Unit along with other Northern Nevada K9 unit teams competed in the 2022 Inaugural K9 Unit Challenge in Carson City today. The competition consisted of three courses: Detection, Patrol, and Obstacle/Agility. The goal of this competition is for the different agencies to have a chance to work with each other and give the community a glimpse of what these K9s and their handlers are capable of doing.

The WCSO was represented by Deputy Harris with K9 Ava, Deputy Evans with K9 Odin, and Deputy Lynch with K9 Ace. Join us in congratulating Deputy Harris and K9 Ava for winning 1st place in the Obstacle/Agility course, 3rd place in Patrol, and 2nd place overall.

It’s almost here!

5 Days to Barks & Badges!

This year’s Barks and Badges is coming up in just five more days on Saturday, May 14th! The weather forecast looks good for the day, so it will be a great day to come out to see the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office K9s, their handles, and all the other great First Responders who will be at our event. We’ll also have games for the kids, vendors and exhibitors to visit and of course, great demos from the K9s!

K9 Partners will be at the booth and we have new T-shirts in all sizes from little kidlets to big adults. Take a peak at the new colors! These shirts will not be sold online, only at our events. So come see us!

See a list of our vendors/exhibitors here.

Meet our new pups!

We know you’ve all been waiting (im)patiently to meet our new K9s. Well, today is the day!! Introducing, Axel and Ace!! They have passed all their tests, become accustomed to their new surroundings, and love their new families! Both dogs are Czech Shepherds. We are so happy to have them here and see what great things they will do for our community!

Great Donation from Scheels

Many thanks to Scheels at Legends for their generous donation to Washoe County K9 Partners. It’s greatly appreciated and will help us to continue to help our Sheriff’s Office K9s. Deputy Durham and Kyago were at the check presentation ceremony.

Thanks also to our Pillar Partner KOLO Cares for covering the story. View their news coverage below.
